Who is behind Paillettes & Chantilly?

It's me, Camille! I'm 32 years old and married to a wonderful man (most of the time…). We have a little boy, so you could say my days are pretty hectic!

My friends say I'm bubbly and funny, but I have a strong personality.

What was your path to becoming a wedding planner?

After graduating from high school, I went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in English at university. But, being the bundle of energy that I am, I also enrolled at Cours Florent to study theater at the same time.

This experience has been amazing for me. Having always been passionate about directing, I’ve had the opportunity to direct wonderful projects and build my own teams.

After completing my studies at Cours Florent, I enrolled at EFAP, a school for communication and marketing. It was during this time that I realized I loved organizing events. I needed solid training so that I could one day start my own agency. During my studies at EFAP, I assisted wedding planners who trusted me and helped me get my foot in the door in this industry.

But I decided to wait before taking the plunge and gain a little more experience first. I worked for several years in the media industry as an advertising and sales manager. I didn’t find fulfillment in that field, and when I became pregnant, I decided to launch a new venture: Paillettes & Chantilly.

What do you like so much about being a wedding planner?

First of all, no two weddings I plan are ever the same. There’s no routine, and this job allows me to witness beautiful moments as the planning unfolds. I love supporting amazing couples and being their voice as they bring one of the most beautiful moments of their lives to life. In wedding planning, I find the same joy I felt when I was a theater student: putting together an amazing team with the shared goal of a spectacular finale.

What kind of wedding do you dream of planning?

It’s impossible to pick just one!
I love planning weddings in the countryside as much as in the city. Likewise, I don’t have a preference between small gatherings and large receptions. For me, what really matters is that the couple getting married and the people supporting them in this journey are genuine. There are a few wild ideas I’d love to check off my to-do list, such as:
  • A bride in a jumpsuit – CHECK!
  • the biker couple
  • A cozy winter wedding in the mountains – CHECK!
  • A summer wedding, feet in the sand, with the Breton breeze blowing, and fresh oysters to enjoy – (almost) CHECK!
  • musician newlyweds who surprise their guests
  • an intimate wedding under the stars
  • A bohemian wedding under teepees
  • and your projects!

I won’t deny that I have a bit of a problem with couples who get married mainly to put on a “show.” Throwing a wedding just to feed the couple’s Instagram feed—I think that’s a shame…

If we decide to embark on this crazy adventure with you, what can we expect?

Less stress, I hope! More seriously, I hope to bring more peace of mind to the couples who put their trust in me. Planning a wedding isn’t easy. First, you have to figure out what you want for your big day. Then, those wishes usually clash with the ideas of your loved ones and the realities of life: the feasibility of the plan, the budget… That’s where I come in! No beating around the bush between us—I’m straightforward and will tell you clearly whether your plan is viable or if we’re headed for a wall. I’m not here to hold you back from your ideas (on the contrary, I love it when you have them!), I just make sure you ask yourselves all the right questions and make your decisions with all the necessary information in hand.

So, I’d say you can expect transparency, support, and a positive attitude!
